Pilates benefits on the body

The Pilates method was developed by Joseph Hubertus Pilates through his ongoing studies of the body and his practice of numerous disciplines. From a young age, Pilates suffered from poor health and decided to strengthen his posture and breathing to reap the benefits.

He studied and practiced numerous disciplines, from Western to Eastern practices such as yoga. During the First World War, he became a nurse and worked with many hospitalized patients. Thanks to equipment designed to allow even those confined to bed to perform exercises, he was able to rehabilitate infirm soldiers.

All this is the Pilates method, a discipline that, thanks to its enormous benefits for the body, is also followed and practiced by professional dancers, athletes, and circus performers as a professional training method.
